Easy Chili Recipe- A Real Crowd Pleaser!

As soon as the weather gets cool, we love making this recipe! It is super easy and a crowd pleaser.

Easy Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 (46 fluid ounce) can tomato juice
  • 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • Sour cream for garnish
  • Cheese for garnish

Directions

  1. Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, and crumble.
  2. In a large pot over high heat combine the ground beef, tomato juice, tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, onions, bell pepper, cayenne pepper, sugar, oregano, ground black pepper, salt, cumin and chili powder. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
  3. Serve and top with cheese and sour cream.

Banana Walnut Bread Recipe

I am a big breakfast fan and fly through Banana Walnut Bread anytime it’s around. I would recommend doubling the recipe while you’re making it so you can freeze one loaf and save it for later.

Banana Walnut Bread Recipe

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
2 large eggs at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus more for greasing the pan
1 cup sugar
3 very ripe bananas, peeled and mashed
1/2 cup toasted walnut pieces

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease a 9-by 5-inch loaf pan with butter.
  3. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
  4. Whisk the eggs and vanilla together; set aside.
  5. In a mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  6. Gradually pour the egg mixture into the butter while mixing until incorporated.
  7. Add the bananas and remove the bowl from the mixer.
  8. With a rubber spatula, mix in the flour mixture until just incorporated.
  9. Fold in the nuts and transfer the batter to the prepared pan.
  10. Bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  11. Cool for 5 minutes then turn the bread out of the pan and let cool completely on a wire rack.
