Amazon is running a Deal of the Day on the 23andMe+ Premium Membership Bundle! I purchased a 23andMe kit on sale during Prime Day and was thrilled with the results I received. They were so spot on my husband thought I must have provided them with the information. DNA is a wild thing, and it was all generated from a teaspoon of spit collected at home and sent in the mail.
I was diagnosed with celiac disease via biopsy a little over a year ago, and my 23andMe report confirmed I carry the celiac gene. The results from 23andMe will only tell you if you carry the gene for something, and they do not diagnose. Many gene blood tests are not covered by insurance and can be very pricy, so this is an excellent alternative.
Aside from the more serious health reports I received, I will share some of my fun ones. I’m less likely to be a deep sleeper, I’m predisposed to weigh less than average, I’m less likely to have dimples, likely no cleft chin, likely detached earlobes, less than average to be afraid of heights, likely to have little freckling, bitten by mosquitoes more than others, I prefer sweet over salty, uninterrupted I’m likely to wake up at 8:18am, and I’m more likely to experience hair photo bleaching.
